When the merger of Schenck’s programming staff with Heartland’s programming staff was announced, a small team was developed to work on the logistics of the merger. This team consisted of Schenck’s marketing director along with a couple developers from each organization.
One developer indicated that Avatar would be a great name for the new organization. After researching the name, we found that it was highly used. Then Schenck’s marketing director indicated that she wanted a name that would signify solidity.
So the team came up with “Ava” from avatar and “Stone” for solidity.
