Microsoft Dynamics GP Consultant

Job Duties:

  • Install & configure GP
  • Train & support users of GP
  • Use best practices & industry knowledge to identify & solve problems
  • Develop data conversion & testing strategies
  • Perform business requirements & diagnostics
  • Business Portal Implementations
  • Project Management (at least for small projects)
  • Perform assessments to identify client needs for replacing or updating accounting & information systems
  • Format reports 
  •  Build & maintain strong, loyal, long-term client relationships

Education/Experience Requirements:  

  • A four year degree is preferred in business, accounting, MIS or equivalent;  proven knowledge experience is more important than a degree(s)
  • Should have a strong hunger and drive to learn
  • Microsoft Dynamics GP certifications a huge plus (the position will require GP certification; candidates that already have GP certifications will be preferred)
  • Basic SQL knowledge and understanding of databases; higher level knowledge preferred
  • Microsoft SharePoint & GP Business Portal knowledge a plus
  • Programming skills a plus
  • Proven consulting accounting & business knowledge & expertise is more important than a title    
  • 2+ years ERP software consulting/implementation experience  (preferably with Microsoft Dynamics GP)
  • Accounting, as well as business knowledge & experience required
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) V10.0 or higher preferred
  • Experience with report writing tools a plus (SQL Reporting Services,  Excel Reports,  Smartlist Builder, etc.)
  • Requires at least some technical knowledge and skills (SQL, Sharepoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge of GP customization tools and/or programming skills a plus
  • Some industry knowledge, i.e, government, not-for-profit, retail, distribution, manufacturing, etc., as clients cover a wide range of industries
  • Some project management experience
