User Experience (UX) Consultant

Avastone is looking to add a consultant to our growing UX team. This person should have several years of formalized UX/usability experience and strong communication skills, with the ability to lead UX efforts on a variety of client projects.

Job Duties:

• Collaborate with end-users and project team to design user-centered interfaces
• Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
• Utilize a variety of tools and techniques to evaluate interactions between users and systems to identify areas for improvement and guide design
• Create wireframes, prototypes and mockups to conduct end-user testing and focus groups
• Interact with other members of the team (other consultants and internal developers, analysts, project managers, testers, etc) to deliver requirements according to budget and schedule
• Transfer knowledge to members of client’s team and act as an expert, value-added resource
• Attend quarterly staff meetings and professional development planning sessions as required
• Contribute to technical user groups and blogs as desired
• Complete knowledge sharing, training and mentoring of fellow consultants

Experience/Education Requirements:

• 3+ years of UX / usability experience
• Experience in a variety of environments, preferably some experience with Agile
• Software Development background a bonus; basic understanding of web design required (HTML, JSP, Javascript, etc)
• Strong communication skills and understanding of the consultative approach
• Ability to work in a client-facing role

Locations:

This position is based out of our Little Chute location. Interested parties must be prepared to work in the Little Chute office daily.
