Needs:
- Website that represents the company's brand and all of QTI’s products and services.
- A consistent, positive experience for job seekers using their system.
- A site that also targets prospective customers.
Challenges:
The QTI Group, a privately owned human resources (HR) and staffing organization with a rich history of growth and innovation, is a diverse organization with business units focused on staffing, recruiting, HR consulting and HR partnership services. On the staffing and recruiting side, each business unit needs to be able to post open positions and follow up with applicants in a manner appropriate to the audience -- for example, executives have different information needs and communication expectations than skilled laborers. On the business to business side, HR products and services needed to be highlighted.
Their website was not an accurate reflection of their brand as an innovative company. Applicants were managed by an outdated system and manual process that was not consistently followed. They needed a way to manage applications and provide timely, consistent updates to the applicants. The HR products and services were not given the space they needed on the old site.
Solution:
Avastone Technologies worked with QTI and their design agency to implement the new site design into the Ektron content management system (CMS). The CMS allows QTI staff to quickly and easily update site content and change their messaging as needed. Different staff members "own" different areas of the site to distribute the workload.
Avastone also developed a custom application that is tied to the website to manage job postings and applications. The software handles updating job postings and also standardizes the process of responding to applicants. A messaging system within the software provide consistent communication from QTI to applicants while providing the flexibility to customize messages when needed.
Throughout the development process, Avastone provided good communication to ensure a pleasant process. QTI valued the "insight the development team brought to add value to the project and ask 'would it be great if…' in addition to understanding the basics needed to meet the project requirements."
Impact:
- QTI’s brand is consistenly and effectively showcased.
- All QTI products and services, not just staffing, are now a part of the website.
- Standardized and enforced process for handling applications leading to efficiencies and improved customer service.
- Website and communications to applicants promote and reinforce the company brand.
